PAYMENT OF FINES ISSUED AFTER FIXING TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS BY TRAFFIC CAMERAS

You can pay the fine through the website www.jccsmart.com (the user will need to enter the serial number of the fine notice and vehicle registration number, and then proceed to pay by entering their bank card information).
In accordance with the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law (Law 86/1972 as amended): if the number of penalty points at the time of online payment reaches or exceeds “12”, the payment of the fine will be refused, and the offender will be prosecuted.
Payment of the fine in instalments is not allowed.
How to find out if a person has unpaid fines for traffic violations?
To obtain information about unpaid fines, you can contact the police station and provide the following information:
- ID number, first and last name, vehicle registration number.
Alternatively, you can contact the Police Headquarters - Traffic Department from 07:00 to 14:30 on weekdays. Phones 22 607545 (46/47) or call centre by phone 80008009.
Fines can be imposed for the following traffic violations recorded by cameras:
- exceeding the permitted speed;
- driving when prohibited by traffic light;
- crossing the stop line at an intersection;
- unfastened seat belt;
- using a mobile phone or any other object while driving;
- lack of a protective helmet for motorcyclists.
A meeting of the Road Safety Council was held, at which it was proposed to reduce the fine for driving through a red light to complete a right turn (traffic rules do not prohibit this) from 300 to 85 euros, and it was decided to increase the time to complete the turn from three up to four seconds.
