If you are harsh and arrogant everyone will hate you.
Be polite and modest with all people.
Do not promise if you are not sure that you can keep the promise.
Present yourself simply, with dignity, with no foppery .
One should see a line where dignified politeness ends and groveling begins.
Do not write letters and reports rashly.
Confide less or you will be sorry. Remember, my tongue is my enemy!
No carouses! You will not prove yourself dashing, you will only compromise yourself.
Do not rush to get close with someone you don’t know too well.
Avoid money relations with friends. Money always ruins relations.
Do not take personally any offensive remarks, jokes and mockeries behind your back which often happen in the streets and in public places. Rise above it. Go away – you won’t be a loser, but you will avoid scandal.
If you cannot say anything good about someone, refrain from saying a bad thing even if you know it.
Do not neglect any advice, listen to it. You may decide whether to follow it or not. Learn to use the good advice of another - it is the art as important as to give good advice to yourself.
Officer’s main force is not in his impulses but in his unbroken tranquility.
Protect the reputation of a woman who has trusted you whoever she is .
There are moments in life when you need to silence your heart and listen to your mind.
A secret that you tell at least one person about is no longer a secret.
Be always on the alert and don’t get out of hand.
Try to make your words in a dispute soft and your arguments strong. Try not to annoy the opponent, but to convince him.

When talking, avoid gestures and do not raise your voice .
If you are in the society, where there is a person with whom you are in a quarrel, when greeting everyone you should shake hands with him as well , of course, if there is no way to avoid it without attracting attention of the guests or the hosts. Shaking hands does not give cause to unnecessary talking and doesn’t oblige you to anything.
Nothing teaches you like the realization of your own mistake. This is one of the main means of self-education . The only one who doesn’t make mistakes is one who does nothing.
When two people quarrel both are always to blame.
The authority is acquired by skills and service. It is important that your subordinates respect you, and are not afraid of you. Where there is fear - there is no love, there is only undercurrent hostility or hatred.
There is nothing worse than indecision. A bad solution is better than hesitation or idleness. The lost moment cannot be returned.
Anyone who is afraid of nothing is more powerful than the one whom everyone is afraid of.
