Macau Casino ends year lower on disappointment

Total monthly gaming revenue fell 13.7% year-over-year to just over $2.84 billion before posting a decline.
Official information from the City Game Inspection Coordinating Bureau showed the December figure represents the biggest monthly decline since the 16.3% decline experienced in March 2016, pushing the industry's final annual total to about $36.44 billion, down 3.4% year-on-year.
This year's full-year results were the highest in 12 months, at about $43.81 billion since the final tally in 2014, following 2018 when many casinos in Macau posted total gaming revenue of about $37.74 billion, up 14% year-on-year period.
Macau casinos posted a total of $8.99 billion in gaming revenue, the same as an 8.4% year-on-year decline and following a 4.1% decline to $8.82 billion experienced in the third quarter, official data showed.
Macau is home to some of the world's largest and most famous gambling venues, including Melco Resorts and Entertainment Limited's 1,600-room Studio City Macau and SJM Holdings Limited's iconic casino Grand Lisboa. In addition, information from the Bureau of Game Inspection and Coordination showed that the region saw third-quarter revenue for VIP players fall 22.5% year-over-year to about $3.85 billion, while their mass-market peers contributed an additional $4.95 billion. https://www.slotsite.info/
